Good deal and great service. Love the salsa bar and refills. Menu is pretty standard and seems to be a variation of certain combinations of the same food...just different names. Essentially, each dish pretty much all tastes the exactly same. Maybe this is the reason for the hot salsa bar? Between my daughter and I, we've explored most of the menu. Fresher than fast food. Low key, neighborhood vibe. Quick, easy and family friendly.

No request is ever a problem. There is never any attitude. After you place your order and are ready to pay, they read it back to you. Want lemon for your drink? Sure thang! Need more ice for your drink? Here is a cup full!

My 10 year old LOVES it here so we got take out burritos for her one night (and the hubs 7 I got Italian next door.) Inexpensive and oodles of hot sauces to choose from. Good for a Mex-loving kid. Not expensive. fast-food like.

Solid place! Went in for a late lunch (1:30pm) on a Tuesday and got the Dos Tacos (2 tacos, a drink, and chips) for $5.99. I ordered two blackened chicken tacos on whole wheat tortillas. Chicken was well seasoned and had a nice kick. Added the Sweet Chili sauce which was BANGIN. The chips had a nice taste, also. The raspberry iced tea was forgettable. I tried the queso that my friend got and it was also forgettable. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, the food was tasty and the sauces were plenty. We were waited on quickly and the staff kept coming to check on us. 4 stars from me!

Food is good, service is ok, very busy location! We love Tijuana flats but have never gone on a Tuesday. They have 2 tacos, chips and a drink for $5.99 (or something around there) so it was very busy but the food is always great!

The price was decent, but the food was not anything to brag about. The place seemed to me like a step above Taco Bell , only because they have a wider variety of food. The best thing about this place were the designs on the walls.

Seriously pisses me off when ppl say this place is bad. Literally the best quesadillas in all of Florida. Best chips in The world and their sauce bar is amazing. Although the guac sucks, the crushed ice makes up for it and I definitely recommend slap my ass and call me Sally sauce that's usually on the far left. Love this place! Great food! Great service ! Great prices !

I will say that the food is priced nicely, however it doesn't taste all that good. A big pet peeve that I had, is that I went to wash my hands, and the floor in the mens room was greasy which made it extremely difficult to use. I also left my diabetic bag at my table, and when I came back it was gone along with what was left of my food. I inquired why that occurred and they said "oh we thought you left". The Manager did not give a shit when I told him what happened. I did get my diabetic supplies back, and glad that no one opened it as they could have incurred a needle stick injury.

Love it! Went tonight and it was incredible! As soon as I walked in the door, someone was waiting to help me and was so nice! All of the employees were so kind and the customer service was impeccable! I love Tijuana Flats and hadn't been to this one before, but would definitely go back! The food was amazing!! I got the taco Tuesday deal and it was 2 tacos, chips, and a drink for $5.50. Their hot sauce bar is awesome! If you're looking for a good Mexican place, this is it!

I was one of the first customers at this location when it first opened. I have been back two more times. Every time the young people working there seem to hate their jobs and as a result the quality of the food they serve suffers. I spoke to the regional manager about my issue and he sent me gift certificates and a written apology explaining that this location was not following corporate policies correctly. Now if I want Tijuana flats I go to the newer one out west. It is run much better and the employees are friendlier.

Grand opening was December 3, 2012 and I just happened top be there. This Tex-Mex restaurant is a fun place to grab lunch or casual dinner. I love the colorful grafitti art designed walls and the Hot Bar where you can sample the sauces. Appetizers include choices of salsa, queso, guacamole & chips. Entries include burrito, chimichanga, quesadillas, enchiladas, tacos, etc. I had the fish tacos and they were excellent. The desert items are awesome - Churros or Cookie Dough Flautas that are really good.

At first I loved this place, but the more I go back, the less I like it. The portions are tiny, barely and proteins or ingredients in your tacos or salads for the price they charge you should get more than 2 ounces of protein per taco, and why not include salsa? Moe's and Chipotle do! Hit up chipotle on the other side of the place! Much better

  • Jason D.

    A poor imitation of Chipotle.

A shame this location is getting poor reviews from people who don't know what Tijuana Flats is all about. If you're going there for an authentic anything, this isn't the place for you. The food and restaurant are a step up from a Taco Bell, but it's not your real deal Mexican restaurant located in Southern Cal or Texas. Customer service is really good, food comes out fairly quickly, and it's a solid place to sit in and eat if you want something quick. It's not a date night joint for anyone who has no clue what to expect. I have zero complaints about TF and this particular location is definitely worth its 4 stars!

    (4)
  • Kevin M.

good food, great hot sauce selection. they have a hot sauce bar actually. I lover there queso. Better than chipotle in the same shopping center. If you order the combo comes with rice and beans, don't forget to order chips if you want them. They cost extra and for some reason that always bothers me a bit when i'm at a Mexican restaurant.

  • Jon S.

Just ate here for the first time. First off, I can tell the management team has their act together. Customer service was fantastic and I felt like they truly appreciated my business. Second, and most importantly, the food was great! I can tell it was fresh and the meal was perfect. Finally, the price! Excellent deal! I will definitely be back again... And again!

I had been excited about the place because of all the sauces. I went to this one in Boca and I was happy that I got a lot of tostadas for the money. But I'm not sure I liked any of the18 sauces because I don't really like that smoke flavor or sweet flavor and all oft them that I tried seemed to have them. I later went to the Ft. Lauderdale Tijuana Flats and had a burrito, but wasn't happy with them at all.

  • Joe L.

Decent tacos, great staff who always have a smile on their face. I will try the food again in hopes that it will come out hot rather than warm to cold. The sauces/salsa are very good and the location is great.

  • Mae S.

Not bad for the price, not an incredibly unique menu, but good for a fast bite and a cold beer! The hot sauces was a pretty cool touch, and the food was tasty. The graffiti art on the walls is funky. The lighting kinda have me a headache. Super close by so I am happy stopping by for takeout once in a while, especially on a really hungry day since the portion sizes are great!

PISSED ME OFF! I arrived with my 2 children for the first time and was greeted by a girl that rattled off the menu at record speed, and appeared to be irritated that we did not order in 4 seconds. After ordering she asked for my name and never gave me a receipt. She said we will bring it to you. Long story short ! the Burrito's were good however the rice and the refried beans SUCKED! (2 Table spoons worth) When a server came back and asked me how everything was I stated the beans were like mush as if they were liquid She stated that's the way they are made everywhere. I laughed in her face, and she walked away .Not offering to bring me something else. Horrible customer service! 29.00 for three of us! REALLY!!!

I love Tijuana Flats. My fave is the Lauderdale location in Sunrise. Unfortunately, putting a place that celebrates habanero pepper sauce in the same shopping center as a Kosher market and restaurant may have been a misstep. Boca Raton people are not known for their love of hot food. The inside is bigger than any T Flats I have been to. The staff is friendly, but the kitchen is a lot slower than other TF I have visited. Maybe it was because I was there @ 1:30 on a Thursday? Who knows. This place should be 4 stars plus if they iron out the kinks in time.

Our Tuesday spot to get the dos tacos with chips and a drink all for $5.99. My husband and I always add a side of queso for our chips. I'm not sure why everyone is comparing this place with chipotle but they are two totally different places. You can't get flautas or a burrito at chipotle so don't compare. As for this particular Tijuana, I really enjoy it. The service is good, the managers are always roaming around checking on you and the most amusing part besides trying to pick your sauce is watching peoples names be called again and again and no one claiming it until a few minutes after there, "oh was that my name they were calling?" moment. Hahaha. Highly recommended if you're looking for fast cheap sit down and I recommend the flautas, tostadas, or the dos tacos (on Tuesday). **thoroughly disappointed this Tuesday for our taco night. Not only did they put onions in my taco when I asked them not to, they completely ran out of diet coke. I hate all other drinks. Blah. It's only Tuesday!!**

  • Corey H.

5 stars go for EVERY Tijuana Flats location because of Taco Tuesday. Dos tacos hard or soft with drink and chips for 5.99? Sign me up, tacos are a great size and shells are always crunchy. The atmosphere and their hot sauces are what set it apart from other taco spots. My buddies and I do lunch every Tuesday and never have issues. Just a tip: always call in your order for pick up and eat there so you can avoid any line. This specific location is a little slower than most but either way it's worth going. I love me some hard tacos!!!

The food is fair at best which is what I expected. The place is really dirty. Considering how many people eat here, they need to have full time cleaners on patrol. Instead there is food all over the floor. Dirty tables. The sauce bar is really dirty. And, if you watch where they pack up the food for takeouts, it is inches away from this giant garbage can that is packed with trash. The fair food I expect in a place like this. The unclean environment is just not acceptable.

Surprisingly good mexican food. You order at the counter, like in a fast food place, but they deliver your to your table. I've tried various selections here, burritos, tacos and quesadias, all are very good. Tasty, hot and good portion size. They come with tortilla chips which are very good also. The black beans and rice are really good too. The staff is super friendly. Always nice and pleasant. They deliver the food to you. They stop back and see if you need anything else and they clean up your plates. They greet you when you arrive and say goodbye when you leave. This is nothing like Taco Bell, which is just your typical fast food joint with disinterested employees. Tijuana Flats is a very friendly place with a nice atmosphere and good quality food at a decent price. I have been to three different locations and they are all consitently good.

TF is consistently good. As mentioned by others, Tuesday taco deal scores you two tacos, chips & soda for 5 bucks and change...not bad at all. The crushed ice is a subtle nice touch as well. Don't go here expecting incredible, authentic Tex Mex. This is Americanized. Not delicious, not bad...it's good. They have a nice whole wheat tortilla option, so I don't have to feel as guilty. They're big on order consistency. Now for the downside. While the service is great, it actually tends to get a bit annoying at times. The TF girls are uber chirpy. Obviously I prefer chirpy instead of miserable, but it's a little overkill here. It's the kind of service that just gives you a headache when you think about what their hiring and training philosophy and methods must be like. You can tell this is what they look for and train for. But it's a bit over the top. When a customer walks in the door, it's nice to be greeted. It's nice to be given the option to view a menu. But when you're a weekly regular and just want to run in and out for your usual, a cute girl running up to you to welcome you and ask you if you want a menu every single time gets old fast. Let a guy breathe...for at least 30 seconds after walking in the door! I get it...the fast casual/Tex Mex marketplace is a fiercely competitive one. This is a differentiating factor. Service is a true winning ingredient. But you can deliver great service without suffocating the customer. Just a little observation for the management if they happen to read.

First time trying this place and I was incredibly impressed! The hot bar was my favorite part. They had so many funny names for sauces and they tasted delicious. Our food was very fresh! The service was friendly and the place was clean. For fast food it was slightly pricey but worth it. Will definitely return on our next trip to Florida!

    (4)
  • Jason G.

I view Tijuana Flats as a fast food taco joint. It's not a restaurant per se, so its competition in my eyes would be Taco Bell. Because of that, I happen to like Tijuana Flats. There is nothing authentic. There is nothing remarkable--kind of like Chipotle. But it does the trick when you're hungry and in the mood for some tacos. On Tuesdays they have a $4.99 special that includes two tacos, chips and a drink. You really can't beat that. The sauce bar is easily the highlight of the place, but the service is friendly and you really can't hate on Tijuana if you accept it for what it is.

    (3)
  • Corey K.

For fast food Mexican, there is none better in the area! Way better than the Bell, head and shoulders better than Chipotle! Is this real authentic Mexican food? No, not remotely. But don't let that little thing detract you from tasty goodness on the fly! And for those of us in our 30's and above, the interior looks just like the Edge did back in the 90's!

    (4)
  • George K.

I like coming to eat here because it's quick, tasty, and inexpensive. If I had to compare it to anything I'd say Chipotle with a lot more options. Also, the staff has been very friendly every time I've gone there so that's a plus!

  • Brian R.

I've been to several of these, and they vary. The one in Wellington is excellent. The one in Fort Lauderdale on AIA is very good. This one, however, suffers from really poor execution. Everything sucked. The chips were greasy. The little bit of guac was bland. The fish tacos were oozing drippy mess AND huge filets served almost quesadilla style (You cut them up into pieces, chef) without any slaw or pop of any kind. I like their low-fat menu options but I won't come back to this unit again.

    (2)
  • Samantha B.

I can't believe I'm saying this because I love TJ's but don't go here if you can drive a little extra to ANY other Tijuana Flats in the area. It was messy, wet floor signs out, out of most hot sauces & even to-go containers. Girls that work there no clue what's going on. I had to ask 3 times for things to be fixed on my order. The company has it down to a science & the very young & inexperienced (I might only guess) still manages to mess it up. Usually West Boca restaurants get ruined by nasty people but here it's ruined by the staff. Go to Boynton where there are managers that are super friendly, fast, helpful & clean! EVEN on busy Taco Tuesdays!

  • Richard H.

Great place for fast Mexican food. Service was the best I have seen for a FFR and the sauces were very good and some were unique. Seating outdoors was nice and I was asked at least 3 times if I needed anything. Definitely not a Taco Bell or Chipotle because they simply don't care.

Had an extraordinarily long day running errands between photoshoots. The folks at this location were the most friendly and accommodating employees of any Tijuana Flats I've ever been to. The food was really fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back if I find myself in this part of town!

Just moved from CA'lly to Boca Raton Florida looking for my Mex fix...Tijuana flats worst Mex ever, olives, lettuce & cheddar cheese as the toppings WTF! lol the soft tortilla was cold white & hard, the sauces sucked 1/2 were sweet Asian chiles sauces. I asked for chopped onions & cilantro, they didn't have a clue what I was talking about & everything was full of cumin (Indian spice) Taco Bell has more street cred then this crap - Never Again -

It's too bad that you have to check your order every time you go there for take out. I've had to go back twice already, and it never makes up for getting back home to eat the cold food waiting there because you had to go back for the rest of what they forgot. They don't even take that into consideration or make any attempt to make anything worth ever returning. Chipotle is right around the corner. I like Chipotle's food better, but like to change it up sometimes. From now on, I guess I'll just keep away from the Flats.

If you order the combo comes with rice and beans, don't forget to order chips if you want them. They cost extra and for some reason that always bothers me a bit when i'm at a Mexican restaurant.

Decent tacos, great staff who always have a smile on their face. I will try the food again in hopes that it will come out hot rather than warm to cold. The sauces/salsa are very good and the location is great.

    A poor imitation of Chipotle.

I like coming to eat here because it's quick, tasty, and inexpensive. If I had to compare it to anything I'd say Chipotle with a lot more options. Also, the staff has been very friendly every time I've gone there so that's a plus!

First time there. The food was hot, fast and fresh. Loved the fat free refried beans. I would pickTijuana Flats over Chipotle any day.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
